Channels And Videos
Initially my gaming was uploaded on my main channel ‘Ms Mad Lemon’. I mostly do creative projects on there but every now and then I uploaded gaming videos. Mostly my ‘Nostalgia Time’ retro gameplays (Check playlist section).
Not long ago, I decided to stop uploading gaming videos on my main channel and create a dedicated channel for it. If you’ve randomly stumbled upon this page, then check out my project channel ‘Ms Mad Lemon’
So if you’re in the mood to chill, relax and join me in my gameplays. Feel free to head over to my gaming channel, subscribe and hit the bell icon.
A bit about my gaming
I wouldn’t call myself a hardcore gamer, I do however, enjoy getting lost in a game when I’m in the mood. Back in the late 80s and early to late 90s I used my Amiga for Music Creation. However I did enjoy playing certain games and have lots of lovely memories and nostalgia tied to that. Alongside the Amiga, in the late 90s I had a Sony Playstation and enjoyed a fair selection of games on that.
Aside from the Amiga and Playstation, I also enjoy games on other old classic systems such as the Commodore 64, PC-Engine, Sega Megadrive/Genesis, Atari 8bit and ZX Spectrum also. Out of curiosity for the systems I never had exposure to back then, in recent years I’m quite open to trying different retro systems, whether 8bit or 16/32bit
But my favourite will always be my lovely Commodore Amiga. It’s the one that brings me that nostalgic warmth.
Modern Gaming
After the Sony Playstation I sort of lost interest in gaming as I always was mostly fond of retro games. The last console I bought in it’s time was the Sony PSP. And that was only because I heard that I could play Amiga and Playstation games on it. I mean how could a handheld Amiga and Playstation not be appealing.
In recent years (I say recent, but 2013 is scarily not recent anymore) my niece pestered me to play Minecraft with her. I refused a few times but then gave in. My first ever gameplay with her, we played from 10pm to 7am. Yeah, I’m quite the responsible adult to a 9 year old! *cough*. But honestly speaking, we lost track of time and only become aware of it once my mum came in to question us if we’ve slept, we turned to the window, noticed daylight and were both shocked!
Minecraft And Vintage Story
I have Minecraft to thank for starting the ‘Ms Mad Lemon’ Youtube Channel back in 2015. It was initially started as a channel for me to share Minecraft Gameplays with my niece, young cousin and other kids in the family. Of course whoever else wanted to join in and watch. Little did I know that ‘Ms Mad Lemon’ was going to end up as the channel it is now!
In the past few months, I was introduced to Vintage Story. It’s another sandbox game and is very similar to Minecraft. In fact they started off as being a Minecraft mod initially, then decided to do their own thing. ‘Vintage Story’ however, feels like a more mature game compared to Minecraft as it’s more intricate and there are more processes you have to go through. It emphasizes the survival element more.
I will always love Minecraft and still play it, but I’m also really starting to love Vintage Story now, I fear maybe just a nudge more than Minecraft…I never thought I’d ever say that! That’s saying something coming from me! Somebody who loves Minecraft to the point of having a massive world built in it. Which I still need to do a tour of. That will eventually be on my gaming channel.
‘Nostalgia Time’ Gameplays
I started doing these as Amiga gameplay videos initially. Most of the ‘Nostalgia Time Amiga’ videos are the first time I’ve played these games since back in the 90s and early 2000s. So they’re actually a personal reunion with each of the games.
Alongside that I started doing Nostalgia Time gameplays with other systems like the C64, Spectrum and others.
Over time I’ve recorded these gameplays in different ways. A period of time I filmed a Sony BVM CRT to capture the beauty of how these games originally look. Another period of time I recorded the gameplays onto VHS and digitized that along with the analogue cassette tape artifacts while recording myself using an analogue camcorder or video camera of some sort.
‘Nostalgia Time’ Guests
There was a period of time where I played Nostalgia Time with guests. Most of the time it was with my cousin Ayman. The odd time it was with my nephew Orie.
Life has taken Ayman and I our separate ways and I haven’t seen nor heard from him in years. I remember fondly the good times we had playing ‘Nostalgia Time’ gameplays and laughing till our stomachs and faces ached.
Nostalgia is a double edged sword. It’s beautiful but can be painful too. I do indeed miss Ayman and our times together. I always pray that life gives him all the best <3
Some of our best moments together (I really miss these days):
You will find more ‘Nostalgia Time’ gameplay videos of Ayman and on the ‘Nostalgia Time’ playlist of my channel:
In recent Times, two of my nephews (one of them Orie, who sometimes featured in the odd Nostalgia Time Video) Have a channel of their own where they record gameplays for fun. There are times I also feature on their channel, since we always have a laugh playing games with each other. Their channel is linked below:
