There is one thing about Summer I find a little annoying, that’s the fight against ultra violet light. I have skin that tans aggressively despite cementing on layers of SPF to my face and hands. The sun-kissed look suits others but It doesn’t suit me. Ah well it doesn’t stop me enjoying the summer.
We visited my old place this weekend, which has been long overdue. I love the summer visits the most. The weather is improving and I’m loving the summery feeling all around.

So every now and then we come here for a break to visit family and friends. This is why there was no video this weekend as we were away and travelling.

This is the room where my videos used to be filmed. It seems to be used as a storage area for the time being as I’m noticing not all the stuff there is mine. Saying that most of this is just boxes now.
I’m still in the process of slowly taking stuff to my new place and throwing out what I don’t want.

Some of this stuff is coming with me, like that little CRT TV. Even though it’s one of those really old 80s ones that only has RF in, it’s too precious to not take.

I won’t lie, there is a hint of sadness seeing the place like this. It was once my personal space, I turned it into a work of art in itself and I practically lived in this room fully. There’s been a lot of moments spent here and great memories. Not to mention different variations of look this room has gone through marking different eras.
It was my sanctuary.

Anyway, that first night I got this thing out. I’ve been thinking about it ever since I did the video for the Yamaha PSS-51. Because I want to make a video on this one too while I still have it. The Yamaha Sy22, which you can see it needs a seriously good clean as it’s been sat there for years.

Next day we went out down town and went to the old places where I used to hang out. We did a bit of shopping here and there also and kept noticing odd things every now and then, which you’ll have seen posts about. The little things that make you giggle to yourself.

We later met up with friends at a park and chilled there for a while enjoying the sunshine.

I met up with our friend Wayne (Electronscape/Neochrome of the SIDBox) and he was showing me his remote controlled power house vehicle project..Robot car…very cool powerful thing, which I’m not sure what it’s called. But it’s freakin cool nontheless.

He himself has started blogging too about his projects. So here’s the link if you’d like to subscribe to his blog also. We have a joint project The SIDBox, which I REALLY need to get a move on with doing my side of things!
I later showed him the Polyend Tracker briefly which unfortunately with all that was going on he didn’t get too much of a chance to mess about with it. I’ll be sure to bring it next time.
We had a good chill night and then the next day Rich, his daughter and I went out for a walk and ended up meeting up with Horsies!

Next time I’m taking my hiking boots and proper gear so we can go further. We had a mini snacky picnic though which we enjoyed. But yeah, definitely be more prepared next time.

We all did so much more which I don’t want to get into too many details about because this blog post will end up huge! Last Summer a trip to my old place resulted in an hour long summer special video.
We noticed that we did so much in each day to the point where each day felt like two.
The next day we went around town and picked up a bargain. After chlilling at a cafe in the morning, we noticed a charity shop across from it which had vinyl records in it. They weren’t anything special, as I always say “Meh, they’re just Shirley Bassey records”. Rich knows what I mean when I call them that, thankfully we’re into the same kinda music.
What we did get is a solid wood coffee table, by freakin chance and an impulse buy. This thing is HEAVY and so awkward to carry since the weight is not evenly distributed. It barely fit in the car, literally millimetres away from not being able to bring it back to my old place from town, yes THAT freakin’ impulsive!
Rich was getting anxious about it at the time and slightly stressing out. I remember him saying “Why do we always end up doing crazy stuff like this?? why does this chaos always happen?? and always I’m pushed to an edge??”
I answered “Probably because I exist in your life now.”
I get this feeling he’s not used to his life being this erratic. I mean, I’m not a conventional woman, I’ve always been an acquired taste and well.
I always say to him “You got yourself into this” :-))
We later travelled back to our place and once we arrived home and brought some of my stuff in. That CRT TV you saw in my old room above?
At least for the time being it sits here now:

It kinda took us back a bit, felt like we were coming back home after a long day, in the late 80s/early 90s.
Last night when we chilled together in this front room and talked about things with the coffee table there. He said:
“It may have all been chaos but chaos brings good things a lot of the time.”
He said, in a nutshell, that my slightly wild presence pushes limits and makes room for things to happen.
What ever does he mean? It’s just normality for me!

The moment we put the table into our front room when we got back to our place, it fit in perfectly.

My coffee this morning as I catch up with my blog.
I’ve also done a little ‘tieing up loose ends’ chill & talk video, which links to this blog, so I’ll link it here below:
