Upcoming Video: Walkman/Personal Stereo Restoration

Alo everyone! I was initially going to release a personal stereo restoration on Saturday, this weekend. However upon completion of the editing, I felt the video just needed something more. So I decided to do more filming instead.

I know those of you who are into Personal Stereos and Walkmans are going to be happy to hear about this. I know a few have requested more of it and also vintage hi-fi videos.

There’s something special about the personal stereo which I’m restoring. It’s one that’s from my teenage years and saw me through the final two years of high school. It soon became my favorite one.

The Autumn Filming Walk

So I went out for a walk this clear Autumn morning and did some filming around and some more in the garden once I got back. I made the video into something a bit more than just a restoration video.

I’ve had a couple of comments lately and a nice back and forth with someone this past couple of weeks. Thank you all so much for your support and your heartwarming kind words!

There was another comment where someone was saying they don’t care what the subject matter is, they’re just happy to watch a “Maddi video” . I had someone else message me the same. Thank you! I’m touched! 🙂

It’s comments like these that really make a difference! I have so much I wish to share and so many ideas in queue. Life does get busy with family and other events. I’m also doing some photography and editing for the art group. They’re creating a 2024 calendar with everyone’s artwork, so I’m the photographer.

Also, thankfully my health is starting to improve a bit lately as I’m taking extra care of myself. It had been declining these past few years but thankfully for the first time in around five years my health is improving and on the way up 🙂

I still have a little more filming to do which I might do later on today, but I’ll be editing and hopefully releasing this week’s video during the week instead. (For those of you who are new to my channel, I usually release project videos at some point at the weekend).

Project Room Progress

I’ve done as much as I can with my project room, though just saving up for the wood to get from the timber yard so that my desk and workbench can be created. Meanwhile at least I have some space I can use to film up there. I also need to start recording Nostalgia Time videos again! I kinda miss doing them. And also a few of you have mentioned that it’s nice to watch something mid-week from me while waiting for the weekend project type videos. Again really touching to hear, thank you!

I’m looking forward to sharing this upcoming with you all!

Ooooh! Walkman?! That’s gonna be a fun video. I have an original Sony CD Walkman that I used to play CDs in my car when I was in college from 1984-1988. I should see if it powers on!
I’m definitely like another of your viewers: I am happy to see a Maddi video about anything.
Oh, and I updated the Polyend this week. It’s working great! Super stable. Thanks again for alerting me to wait until the recent update.

  Also, my pleasure Corey! I’m happy about Polyend working stable, I hated experiencing that anticipation. I’m relieved from waiting for that horrible sounding glitch to happen lol.
  Sweet, I didn’t have the pleasure of having a Sony CD Walkman..(Discman?) back in the day. I had a Sanyo one which I still have somewhere. Hoping yours powers up!

Hiya Maddi ☺️ Lovely blog post and l am super excited for this upload of the personal stereo to come. I overhauled my childhood, (well teenage lol), Walkman this year and that was completely inspired by yourself and videos of previous restorations.
I very much echo the thoughts of the many people that love your video’s no matter the subject as they done by you with that unique style and positivity we have come to admire.
Your videos are very much like settling down with a good friend over a coffee and being able to watch the world go by and chat at a little river side cafe.
They have that comfortable easy going flow that’s beautifully natural and l always come away with a smile, more knowledgeable and feel that my soul has feasted well.
I hope there will be links to buy the mentioned calendar as l would be quite interested in buying that 🤔

  I’m looking forward to sharing the personal stereo upload, thing is I just finished editing, but then thought of something else I wanted to add to it Lol! so i’ll be filming and editing that tomorrow hopefully 😀

  That’s a lovely thought, I’m happy that yourself and others see it this way, I know when I’m filming I’m seeing it like this, actually I sorta imagine yourself and others around and I’m sharing stuff with you. Sorta unfiltered, which is why I make so many speaking mistakes Lol!
  I’m not sure if the calendar will be sold online or not. I’ll probably write a blog post about it since I haven’t updated you all on my art for a while. I’m going tomorrow to the art group so I can ask for you? If they’re not selling them online then I can always send one to you personally if you like? If you want I’ll ask them to put an extra one in for you 🙂

Autumn has certainly arrived. More than once this past week, my cats have given me a “What’s the deal with this weather? Nope, I’m not going out there” look, when I opened the door!
Always brightens the day watching a “Maddi video”, whatever the subject, so another vote here!
Is that an Alba cassette player with tetris I see in that picture? Looking forward to that upcoming video.

  Autumn has indeed arrived and as beautiful as it is, i’m missing the summer haha. Neelix is starting to be inside a bit more and fall asleep on my lap now. So I can just imagine the look your cats are giving you.. Funny thing is, when I go to let Neelix out and it’s raining, he gives me that look, then goes over to the French door asking to let him out there, as if it’s a different outside to the first door LOL

I cannot wait for this Walkman video to drop, the Walkman is still one of my favourite devices to ever be created. Looking at the picture, there’s some nice examples of the Walkman / Personal Stereo there.

  I have to agree, i’m glad the Walkman is a thing, so many walks and long car/coach/train and plane journeys of mine throughout the years have been made more exciting because of it 😀
  I have a lot more than these but these are the ones from back in the day, my personal history 🙂
